A life-changing $1.8 million Saturday Lotto prize remains unclaimed, leaving one lucky individual unaware they are now a millionaire. This comes as Sydney residents enjoyed a successful weekend in the lottery, with two division one wins sharing a total prize pool of $3.6 million.
Unclaimed Prize Sparks Search
While a woman from Merrylands has come forward to claim her substantial winnings, a second winner from Belmore, located in the city’s southwest, has yet to step forward. The winning ticket was purchased at Belmore Newsagency, situated at 362 Burwood Road, Belmore. Despite the win, the ticket holder has not yet presented the ticket to claim the prize.
Representatives from the newsagency expressed their excitement, stating, “It’s amazing how one ticket can change someone’s life. Congratulations to the winner and all the best on your future endeavours.”
Winner Unregistered, Making Contact Impossible
Officials from The Lott confirmed that the unknown winner is not registered as a member of The Lott Members Club and did not register their ticket online. This lack of registration means there is currently no way to directly contact the winner.
Khat McIntyre from The Lott commented, “Our mystery winner is likely oblivious to the fact they won $1.8 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw. We’ve already shared the life-changing news with the Merrylands winner, and we’re ready to do the same with this mystery Belmore player.”
Merrylands Winner Celebrates Life-Changing Win
The Merrylands winner shared her elation, recounting how she and her husband celebrated the win with a glass of champagne. “I’m still in shock,” she admitted. “When I checked my ticket on Sunday morning, I couldn’t even process it. We had a bottle of bubbles to celebrate but other than that, we’ve just been going on with our daily life because it’s barely sunk in.”
She revealed that she doesn’t play the lottery regularly but is motivated to buy a ticket when the jackpot reaches a significant amount. “Something we’ve always wanted to do is buy a house and now we can. It’s incredible,” she added.
Call to Check Tickets
Lottery players are being urged to meticulously check their Saturday Lotto tickets. “We’re encouraging anyone who purchased a Saturday Lotto ticket from Belmore Newsagency to check their tickets today,” McIntyre advised. “Just imagine how exhilarating it would be to discover you’ve won division one. Your plans for the rest of the year and into the future would quickly change.”
This situation echoes a previous call made earlier this month for a mystery winner of a $100 million Powerball ticket purchased last June. That winner has still not come forward to claim their prize over a year later.
