Ex-Wife of Deceased Celebrity Dentist Experiences Fresh Grief
Cassandra Lin, 37, the former wife of a celebrity dentist who was fatally shot by police following a violent incident, is once again navigating profound loss. Her brother, Christopher Jenkins, 40, a commercial funding specialist residing in Sydney, Australia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning. His death occurred due to complications arising from a routine ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgery intended to address a snoring issue.
“I am simply broken and have no idea how I’m meant to go on without him,” Ms. Lin shared, expressing her devastation. She took to Instagram to convey her grief, accompanied by a collection of family photographs.
A Heartfelt Tribute to a Beloved Brother
In her social media post, Ms. Lin wrote, “It is with profound and unimaginable heartbreak that I share the sudden and tragic passing of my brother, Christopher. He died horrifically, following complications from elective ENT surgery. All he wanted was a good night’s sleep.”
Describing her brother as her “safest place,” she elaborated on their deep connection. “To call him my brother feels far too small for what he was to me. He was my sibling soulmate, my protector, my safest place and the person I loved most in this world,” she stated. “As children we were close, but our bond only grew stronger as adults, as family was everything to him. We became each other’s constant. I was the centre of his world, and he was the centre of mine.”
Ms. Lin articulated the immense difficulty of envisioning a future without her brother’s presence. “The loss of him is impossible to put into words. I don’t know how to imagine this life without his laughter, his guidance, his unwavering love and the comfort of knowing he was always there,” she explained. “And even though I feel broken, and there are no words to describe the immense pain I am feeling, I am endlessly grateful for every moment we shared and for the privilege of being loved by him.”
She concluded her heartfelt tribute by saying, “He was truly one of a kind, with the largest heart, and the space he leaves behind can never be filled. Please keep our family in your thoughts as we try to navigate this unimaginable loss. I love you, Christopher, always and forever.”
Background of Previous Tragedy
This recent sorrow follows a devastating event earlier this year when Ms. Lin’s ex-husband, 41-year-old Dr. Steven Lin, was killed by police in March. The celebrity dentist, known for his appearances on television, reportedly lunged at two women with a knife in Sydney’s Potts Point while under the influence of methamphetamine.
Prior to his death, Dr. Lin, the author of the best-selling book “The Dental Diet,” had experienced a significant downfall. Once a prominent figure and TED-talking speaker, he accumulated a criminal record including charges for stalking, choking, and assault.
In a funeral letter shared posthumously, Ms. Lin revealed the complexities of their past relationship, stating, “We had it all – our little family felt whole and unbreakable…[then] my world came crashing down. I discovered the life you had been living behind my back. The affairs. The secrets. The abuse. The child you fathered that I knew nothing about.” The letter also recounted a chilling threat made by the dentist during a period of drug use, where he allegedly threatened to harm the mother of his five children.
