Maiara Cristina de Lima Fiel, a 31-year-old Brazilian beauty queen and mother of one, has died suddenly from a heart attack. The married contestant, who had no prior health issues, collapsed just a week before her scheduled appearance in a regional pageant on April 29.
Emergency Response and Background
Paramedics battled for over an hour to revive her, but efforts failed. Crowned Miss Londrina in a prominent regional competition last year, she also finished as runner-up in the 2025/26 Miss Sarandi pageant. Fully prepared for the upcoming event, she had finalized her outfits, rehearsed, and completed interviews.
Tributes Pour In
Vitor Tavares, organizer of the April 29 contest, shared an emotional message online, describing her as a committed and dedicated competitor. “I had the pleasure of meeting her in person at the end of last year when she confirmed her participation as Miss Londrina. From that moment, it was clear how seriously she took this dream,” Tavares stated.
He recounted their final conversation: “Just yesterday we spoke, and she showed me the dresses, everything she was preparing with such care to live that moment.” Tavares expressed shock at the news: “It took me a while to believe it. Many people confirmed her passing, but I kept telling myself: it can’t be true… I spoke with her yesterday.”
Reflecting on her vibrant spirit, he added: “It is very difficult to accept such an early loss, of someone so full of life, dreams, and goals. A young woman with such a beautiful future ahead of her. May God receive Maiara as she deserves, with all the light she always carried, and may she continue to shine even more.” Tavares extended condolences: “I leave here my most sincere condolences to all family and friends. May God give strength and comfort in this very painful moment.”
Fans echoed the sentiment online. Matilde Nunes offered: “My thoughts are with her family and friends. May God give her eternal rest.” Levia Soares wrote: “Rest in peace. May her departure serve as a warning to us to look after our health.” Leo Leal reflected: “Life is like that. We get up and have no idea what awaits us in the next 24 hours. My condolences to the family.”
