Coronation Street Fans Face Viewing Disruption

Viewers hoping for their regular dose of Weatherfield drama will be disappointed tonight as Coronation Street is not being aired. The popular ITV soap has experienced a schedule change due to live sporting events.

Football Takes Precedence Over Soaps

The disruption to the usual broadcast schedule began on Friday, June 5th, with the airing of the FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier between Spain and England. This led to a rare Sunday episode of Coronation Street on June 7th to compensate.

Now, Tuesday’s scheduled episode has also been removed from the air. This is to accommodate the broadcast of England and Ukraine’s FIFA World Cup qualifying match, which is being shown on ITV. Consequently, the episode will not be available on ITVX or YouTube as it typically would be.

Return to Schedule and Extended Broadcasts

Fortunately for fans, the schedule returns to normal with an earlier broadcast on Wednesday, June 10th. Coronation Street will air at 7:30 PM. To make up for the missed episode, a special hour-long installment is scheduled for Friday, June 12th, starting later than usual at 9:00 PM.

What to Expect in Upcoming Episodes
