Bryson DeChambeau aims to rebound at the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club. His major season began poorly with a missed cut at The Masters last month, though he secured two victories on LIV Golf this year, indicating solid form overall.

Recent Practice Round at Cedar Crest

In the third installment of his public course challenge series, DeChambeau visited Cedar Crest Golf Course in Dallas, Texas, days before the PGA Championship to attempt breaking the course record. He previously equaled the record with a 63 at Southern Oaks but fell short with a 69 at Texarkana.

DeChambeau shared footage of his Cedar Crest round on YouTube, finishing at 3-under par 69, featuring three birdies and 15 pars. Despite the respectable score, his performance highlighted struggles with the driver and putter.

Driver and Shot-Shaping Issues Surface

DeChambeau struggled to control his driver, producing a slinging draw that kept him off the fairways. This limitation in shot variety—particularly the inability to hit a fade—poses challenges for major contention. On his best days, he ranks among the world’s elite, but mastering both draw and fade will prove essential at Aronimink.

His future on LIV Golf remains uncertain amid reports of funding changes from the Public Investment Fund, but DeChambeau focuses solely on the upcoming major.
