Cyclist in Critical Condition After South Windsor Collision
Authorities are actively investigating a serious collision that has left an 89-year-old cyclist with life-threatening injuries. The incident took place on Friday, shortly after midday, in the South Windsor area at the intersection of Northwood Street and McKay Avenue.
According to initial reports, the elderly man was navigating the intersection on an electric bicycle when he was struck by an approaching vehicle. The driver involved in the collision remained at the scene following the incident.
The injured cyclist was transported to a local hospital for immediate medical attention. As of Saturday, he was reported to be in critical condition. Members of the Windsor Police Service’s traffic reconstruction unit were on-site to thoroughly examine the scene. The intersection was consequently closed to public traffic for an estimated six hours to facilitate the investigation.
