A recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase has sparked widespread disappointment among viewers. The 30-minute stream highlighted upcoming titles for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, but a viewer poll reveals overwhelmingly negative reactions.

Poll Results Show Clear Dissatisfaction

Thousands tuned into the event, and a poll asked participants to rate the showcase out of 10. From 275 responses, 28% awarded it a dismal 1/10, with 3/10 and 2/10 claiming second and third place. In total, 58% scored it below 5/10. While 7/10 garnered 10% of votes, high marks proved rare: only 4% gave 10/10 and 3% selected 9/10.

Forum Feedback Echoes Frustrations

Gaming communities on Reddit and Resetera mirror this sentiment, citing too many ports and few fresh announcements. One Reddit user noted, “Most of these aren’t even announcements. Orbitals looks amazing and it’s one of my most anticipated games, but we saw it in the last Nintendo Direct. What here is actually new?”

Another replied, “There was only one game that was a world-premiere and exclusive to Switch 2. That game was Tokyo Scramble. Fun concept (dinosaur stealth game) but it needs a lot of polish and refinement. Looked like indie jank.”

A third commenter added, “There was nothing really aside from Kyoto Xanadu that was remotely interesting or hasn’t already been out for ages elsewhere.” On Resetera, one user simply stated, “I’m going back to bed,” capturing the prevailing mood.

Notable Highlights Amid Criticism

Despite the backlash, some announcements stood out. Orbitals impresses with its It Takes Two-style co-op action and charming art. Updates on Resident Evil Requiem and the reveal of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered demonstrate Switch 2’s hardware potential. Viewers hope future showcases deliver more innovation.
