Investigators recovered several evidence items, including a pair of gloves, for analysis. On Thursday, officials erected a tent at the entryway where blood evidence surfaced early in the probe and doorbell footage recorded a masked individual the night of her disappearance.
Suspect Description Released
The FBI designated the masked figure as a suspect and published details on X, describing a male approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build. Images show a black 25-liter “Ozark Trail Hiker Pack” backpack matching the one worn by the individual. “We hope this updated description will help concentrate the public tips we are receiving,” the FBI stated, following thousands of leads since the abduction.
Earlier footage from the doorbell camera depicts the masked person, appearing armed, tampering with the device on the morning of February 1. FBI Director Kash Patel shared the videos on X, confirming authorities believe Guthrie was taken against her will. She requires multiple medications, raising urgent health concerns.
Reward Boosted to $100,000
FBI Phoenix elevated its reward to $100,000 for information leading to Guthrie’s location. Agents combed desert terrain near her home Wednesday, enduring heat while checking rocks, vegetation, and brush in adjacent areas.
Neighbor Accounts and Family Response
Neighbor Ann Adams, living near Annie Guthrie’s property, described agents’ inquiries: “They were just asking some general questions, wondering if there was anything, any information we could shed on the Nancy Guthrie issue. Wanted to look around the property and after that, cameras and such.” Adams noted specific requests for footage from January 31 and February 1 mornings, plus any suspicious activity since. Investigators exited Annie’s home with bags and retrieved roadside mail.
Savannah Guthrie posted a vintage home video on Instagram featuring her mother with two children and pink flowers, captioning: “We will never give up on her. Thank you for your prayers and hope.” She and her siblings expressed readiness to pay a ransom, though the authenticity of reported ransom notes remains unconfirmed.
