Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a 24-year-old man on the Montreal Lake Cree Nation. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) homicide unit has taken charge of the investigation following the discovery of the individual, identified as Steven Beatty of Timber Bay, Saskatchewan.
Discovery and Initial Response
Officers were dispatched to a residence on the First Nation early Monday morning, responding to a report of an injured man. The call came in around 1:10 a.m. CST. Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel found Beatty and administered first aid. Emergency medical services subsequently pronounced him deceased at the scene.
