A prominent Iranian academic has asseed that current United States foreign policy towards Iran represents a return to 18th-century imperialistic practices. Speaking in a recent broadcast, Seyed Mohammad Marandi, a professor at Tehran University, argued that American media outlets are not independent but rather “controlled by oligarchs.”
