Final Tie to Ex-Husband Severed as Property Sells

Lisa Armstrong has officially concluded her final financial link to her former husband, television presenter Ant McPartlin, with the acceptance of a £3.2 million offer on their former marital home. The five-bedroom property, located in west London, had previously been valued in the £7-£8 million range but saw its worth significantly diminish following a fire in September 2023.

Property Sale Marks New Chapter for Armstrong

Armstrong, a renowned makeup artist, purchased the house with McPartlin in 2006. Following their split in 2017, the property was rented out before being placed on the market. Sources close to Armstrong indicate she is “delighted that the last remnants of her marriage have been finally put to bed” with the successful sale of the home.

Fire Damage Impacted Valuation

Initially listed for £4 million in May 2024, the asking price was subsequently reduced due to substantial fire damage. The inferno caused damages estimated to be in excess of £1 million. Prospective buyers will need to undertake significant restoration work, as many rooms still bear the visible signs of the fire.

Property Features and Divorce Settlement

The expansive property boasts an 80-foot south-facing rear garden, complete with a self-contained garden studio. Interior amenities include a gym room and a versatile games/cinema room with a bar area, according to property listings. Armstrong was awarded the house as part of a £31 million divorce settlement from McPartlin in 2020. She has since purchased a nearby property where she currently resides.

McPartlin’s Recent Property Investments

In February, it was reported that McPartlin had acquired a substantial new-build property on an exclusive street in Surrey for upwards of £10 million, a sum that reportedly incurs over £1 million in stamp duty alone. While the specific location remains undisclosed, many of these celebrity enclaves are situated in the northern part of the county, a region that counts high-profile figures such as Sir Cliff Richard, John Terry, Stormzy, and Gary Lineker among its residents.

Previous Residence and Business Dealings

McPartlin had previously sold his luxury house in Wimbledon, south-west London, two months prior, following a dispute with neighbors regarding planning permission. Reports suggest this sale was a record for the area. McPartlin’s financial security is further bolstered by a reported £30 million ITV deal with his long-time television partner, Declan Donnelly.

Shared Grief Over Pet’s Passing

Despite their divorce, McPartlin and Armstrong were briefly reunited last month following the passing of their beloved dog, Hurley. It is understood that McPartlin rushed to join his ex-wife at the veterinary clinic shortly after attending a press conference for Britain’s Got Talent in London. The pair made the difficult decision to have their 12-year-old dog euthanized after learning he was too ill to recover. Reports indicate that both McPartlin and Armstrong were able to see Hurley beforehand, and McPartlin was present as the dog passed away peacefully.
