Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar has retired at age 34 following a training collapse that prompted a health diagnosis. The Brazilian international experienced vasovagal syncope during a Sao Paulo session late last year, a condition involving sudden drops in blood pressure and heart rate. Manageable with medication or a simple procedure, it led to his decision to end his professional career.

Stunning Trophy Collection Revealed

Oscar recently posted an Instagram photo showcasing his extensive array of trophies, medals, and honors earned throughout his career. The display highlights a journey filled with dedication and triumphs.

‘Between dreams and achievements, this photo sums up much more than titles; it sums up a journey,’ Oscar captioned the image. ‘Each trophy there carries hours of training, discipline, sacrifices, and also moments of overcoming obstacles that no one saw. It started with a simple dream, a ball at your feet, and the desire to go further. Over time, opportunities, challenges, and victories came, transforming effort into history. Today, looking at all this, it’s not just about winning, it’s about everything that had to be lived to get here. Thank you, God, for everything.’

Chelsea Achievements

During five seasons at Chelsea from 2012 to 2016, Oscar secured two Premier League titles, a League Cup, and a Europa League trophy. He contributed 38 goals across 203 appearances for the club.

Success in China and Beyond

Oscar joined the Chinese Super League amid its investment surge, spending eight years at Shanghai Port. There, he lifted three league titles, an FA Cup, and a Chinese Super Cup. His move reportedly earned him around £150 million at its peak.

International Honors

Representing Brazil, Oscar won the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and earned a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics. At youth level, he claimed the 2011 Under-20 World Cup and South American Youth Championship.

The collection also features personal awards and signed shirts from Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Tributes from Peers

Former Chelsea captain John Terry praised the post with a simple ‘legend,’ celebrating his ex-teammate’s legacy.
