Durham Regional Police Service has launched a homicide investigation following the death of one individual in Oshawa on Saturday evening.

Officers responded to reports of an armed person in the area of Simcoe Street North and Winchester Road East shortly before 9 p.m. Upon arrival, they located a victim suffering from traumatic injuries. The victim was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
