Philips Hue launches Sports Live, a feature that synchronizes smart lights with World Cup 2026 matches using live data feeds. This setup requires no additional hardware beyond compatible Hue lights and the Hue app.
How Sports Live Enhances Match Viewing
Lights adjust colors and brightness in real time for pivotal moments, including goals, yellow cards, and red cards. Signify, Philips Hue’s parent company, highlights: “Easy to set up and in time for the world’s biggest football event of the year, soccer at home has never felt so real.”
The feature launches exclusively for the tournament, which kicks off on June 11.
Real-Time Sync and User Controls
Live match data streams directly from the web to the Hue app. Viewers indicate when they begin watching to prevent premature alerts. Signify notes: “The system allows users to fine-tune timings to account for minor broadcasting delays.”
Pause the game, and lighting effects halt accordingly. Resuming playback aligns lights with current events for precise synchronization.
Customization and Compatibility
Supports an unlimited number of Hue lights. Users select their preferred team, integrating its primary strip color into dynamic effects for immersive viewing.
