Major Product Recalls Issued for Chemical and Fire Safety Risks

Consumers are being alerted to a series of significant product recalls impacting a wide range of popular retailers. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has announced the withdrawal of several items due to potentially serious health and safety concerns, including chemical risks and fire hazards. Shoppers are strongly advised to cease using any affected products immediately and return them to their point of purchase for a full refund.

Serious Chemical Concerns Prompt Facial Sticker Recall

A facial sticker, identified as the Vice Versa Boutique Leo Face Sticker, has been withdrawn from the market due to elevated levels of phthalates. The OPSS has stated that these chemicals may pose health risks to children, potentially affecting the reproductive system. The product also requires improvements to its markings and warning labels. Consumers in possession of this item are urged to stop using it and contact the distributor for resolution.

Fire Risk Identified in Multiple Television Plug Units

Several television brands have recalled specific plug units due to a fire risk. The issue stems from the plug’s fuse not meeting the requirements of BS 1362. Affected consumers can visit the Television Safety Notice portal to request a free replacement accessory, such as a replacement power cable or fuse.

Toshiba Televisions Impacted

A broad range of Toshiba television models sold between November 2024 and November 2025 are affected. Retailers include Amazon, AO.com, ASDA, Currys, John Lewis Partnership, Tesco, and Morrisons, among others. Specific model numbers such as 32WF2F53DB, 40LF2F53DB, 50UF3F53DB, and 65UV2F53DBU are included in the recall.

JVC Televisions Manufactured by Vestel

Televisions licensed by JVCKENWOOD and manufactured by Vestel Elektronik for Currys Group Ltd are also subject to recall. These models, sold by Currys Group Ltd between November 2024 and November 2025, include LT-32CT150, LT-50CT650, and LT-65CT650, among others.

Mitchell & Brown Televisions

Models sold by TV & Video Direct between March 2025 and September 2025, such as JB-43QLED1811LIN and JB-32DU1811, are part of the recall.

Polaroid Televisions

Polaroid models, specifically the P50UPF2024A, sold by ASDA Stores Ltd from May 2025, are also being recalled.

Finlux Televisions

Finlux televisions, including 50MU25F and 55MU24F, sold by The Very Group (Shop Direct) between July 2025 and November 2025, are affected.

Techwood Televisions

Techwood models, such as 32AO11FHDF and 55AO11UHDF, sold by AO.com from December 2024, are included in the recall.

Panasonic Televisions

A variety of Panasonic television models sold by Amazon and Currys Group Ltd between December 2024 and September 2025 are affected, including TB-32S45AEY, TB-43W61AEY, and TV-65W80AEY.

Bush TiVo Televisions Recalled

An additional range of Vestel UK plugs used in Bush TiVo televisions has been recalled due to fire risk, as the fuse does not meet BS 1362 standards. Products sold by Argos from December 2024 to March 2026 are affected, including models such as the BUSH 32IN FULL HD TIVO FREELY TV and BUSH 50 INCH UHD QLED TIVO.

IKEA Recalls Kitchen Utensils for Health and Injury Risks

IKEA has issued recalls for two of its 365+ HJÄLTE kitchen items. The IKEA 365+ HJÄLTE Stirring Spatula is being recalled due to the potential migration of primary aromatic amines (PAA) above permissible limits, presenting a health risk. Consumers should immediately stop using the item and return it to any IKEA store for a full refund, with no proof of purchase required.

Furthermore, the IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL Garlic Press is being recalled because it presents a risk of injury. The OPSS noted that small metal fragments may detach during use, potentially contaminating food and causing injury if ingested. This product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. Affected date stamps for the garlic press range from 2411 to 2522 (YYWW).
