The Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, California, descended into chaos Saturday evening when high desert winds prompted an emergency evacuation of the Empire Polo Club grounds. Just one week after Coachella wrapped up at the same venue, the country music event drew massive crowds for its star-packed lineup.

Emergency Evacuation Disrupts Headline Show

Strong gusts forced organizers to clear the area right before Lainey Wilson’s scheduled headline performance. Red letters flashed on screens reading ‘EMERGENCY EVACUATION,’ accompanied by an announcement: ‘The festival has been postponed until further notice. Please move quickly and calmly to the nearest exit.’

Festivalgoers evacuated promptly, with some already departing the site. Within an hour, officials confirmed the event would resume, stating on social media: ‘The show will resume. We are working to open doors and prep the site for your safety. Stay tuned for updates.’

Lainey Wilson Powers Through

Lainey Wilson, 33, rescheduled her set for 10:30 p.m. and reassured fans on X: ‘These crazy winds ain’t gonna stop us.’ She anchored Saturday’s festivities as part of a powerhouse headliner trio, following Cody Johnson on Friday and preceding Post Malone on Sunday.

Star-Studded Saturday Lineup

Earlier, Sydney Sweeney, 28, joined Diplo, 47, onstage during his Honky Tonk air-conditioned tent party. Sweeney perched on the shoulders of her boyfriend, music executive Scooter Braun, 44, drawing cheers from the crowd.

The day’s acts included Riley Green, Journey, Little Big Town, Gavin Adcock, and Teddy Swims. Friday featured Cody Johnson topping a bill with Bailey Zimmerman, Red Clay Strays, and Ella Langley. Legacy performers like Wynonna Judd, Counting Crows, and Lyle Lovett shared stages with rising stars such as Noah Cyrus.
