A Wasaga Beach woman’s Christmas gift for her daughter has turned into a frustrating ordeal, leaving them unable to attend an upcoming concert due to a persistent technical issue. Donna Caissie purchased two tickets for American country artist Bailey Zimmerman’s June 18 performance in Toronto, intending them as a special present for her daughter, Jessica, a devoted fan.

A Gift Gone Wrong

The tickets, bought in October for $536 through StubHub, were intended to be a significant surprise. Donna Caissie explained her motivation: “This was a Christmas present for her because I know she loves Bailey Zimmerman, and I purchased the more expensive ones because I knew she would not do that for herself.”

In April, Donna received a notification from StubHub indicating the tickets were ready for claiming. However, upon attempting to access them, she encountered an error message. The system appeared to be experiencing a glitch, preventing the tickets from being released.

Blame Game Between Ticket Vendors

Despite the tickets being visible in her StubHub account, Donna was informed by the platform that she could not claim them because they were marked as already claimed. This contradiction has led to a two-month struggle to resolve the issue, with the concert date now imminent.

“StubHub is telling me it’s Ticketmaster’s problem. Ticketmaster is telling me it’s StubHub’s problem. It seems no one wants to take the blame for why we don’t have any tickets,” Donna stated, expressing her dismay.

In a bid to salvage the situation, Jessica even reached out directly to Bailey Zimmerman via Instagram, seeking his assistance to secure the seats her mother had paid for. Inquiries were made to StubHub on the Caissie family’s behalf, and a spokesperson indicated they are investigating the matter.

Demand for Resolution or Refund

As the concert day arrives, Donna remains hopeful that the issue will be resolved and her daughter can still attend. Should a resolution not be reached, she has made her expectations clear: “I hope if they are not going to reissue the tickets, they can at least give us our money back. So she can either repurchase tickets to see Bailey Zimmerman, or I guess she is out a Christmas present.””
